We are probably a year away from doing a kitchen remodel but it doesn’t stop me from obsessively planning for it now! We are also still living out of plastic tubs so that keeps me dreaming of it finished. I know we are crazy! I figured it would be a year at the most that we would live this way but now it is looking closer to 2! 😁 I think it is really important that we do it right the first time and so… we “patiently” wait. But for now I dream and plan 😃
The bathrooms are done! Yay! It’s still so hard to believe they are finally done and we can enjoy them. No more running downstairs to the basement for midnight potty runs! We are so thankful to Laurel builders for turning our designs into reality. They were amazing to work with! I thought I would show you the master bath first because to me that is really the biggest change. We didn’t get too fancy with this bathroom or really either one. I tend to like to keep the things in a house that are difficult to change more simple and versatile. Then I can change up my color schemes as I feel with accessories. I love all the fun patterned tile and wallpaper out there but I just don’t think I could commit to one for a long period of time.
If you follow our Instagram you know that we are in the middle of remodeling both our master bath and main bath. It has been such a fun process of finally getting rid of the mold in the girls bathroom and seeing some of our plans for this house come to life. Its funny how the things that I thought would be the easiest to decide on ended up being the hardest. For the life of me I could not decide on a mirror and lighting for both bathrooms!
As designers we are always collecting beautiful kids books to share with our girls. There are so many! With Christmas quickly approaching we wanted to share one of our favorites with you! The Biggest Story by Kevin DeYoung. Last year some great friends of ours introduced us to this book. Not only is it ridiculously good looking 😍 it is a great summary of the whole Bible that kids can understand. The author doesn’t shy away from the complicated stories but has a unique way of showing the larger picture.
So where do we start? It seems like we had been on this journey of buying a house forever and we kept hitting dead ends. While we were living in Seattle we fell in love with so many neighborhoods but ultimately couldn’t afford anything … like not even a bedroom in a house let alone a whole house. This lead us to talking about moving back home where things were more affordable and we would have a family support system again for us and our two little ladies. Ultimately we went through years of looking and waiting for the right time and right home and things just never seemed to work out. Whether it be timing with Nate’s job or loan approval falling through it was clear it wasn’t our time to move.
